For Samsung we intent to motivate, involve and activate users through “Social Gamification”. The treasure hunt was the kick-off for Samsungs facebook-activities in 2014.
The idea of the game was easy to understand: the deeper you are digging, the bigger the win. With fewer people within the same digging-section, the better your chances to win the section’s price.
The gameplay was simple: each day, every user got a limited amount of energy, allowing him to dig for 5 meters. If the user wants to dig deeper, he had to activate his facebook friends, who can “donate” energy. Once a day, each and every day again. But beware; the donated energy needs to be used within 24 hours, otherwise it’s gone…
